We're rich!

It appears that my lovely wife is never going to post on "our" blog, so I will update on her behalf. Sarah got a raise! This means an extra $500/month for us, which is a ton of money. We have struggled staying within our budget since we got married, so we'll see if this gives us the extra breathing room we've been praying for.

As an update, Sarah continues to plug away at her thesis and I am preparing to propose my dissertation at the end of September. A dissertation typically takes 1-1.5 years from proposal to defense, so yes, we'll be sticking around Athens until at least December '08. I had hoped to graduate in August of '08, but God has other ideas. Despite our desires to get out of Athens, we love our home/church/friends/community, so we're content.

In other news, the prof from Germany that I had hoped to do a post-doc under has moved to the University of Florida. :/ Much better program at Florida, but if you look at pics of the University of Konstanz, you'll feel my pain.
